Reinhardt Bonker Performs Resurrection?

Home

AMANDA: One such resurrection occurred last year with Reinhardt Bonker.  Are you going to believe now?  I'm sure you're not.

BRUCE: As I explained above, you provided no evidence for this other than the grandiose claim.  Where is the pathologist report?  Where is the death certificate?  Why hasn't the medical evidence been documented and researched under peer review in professional medical journals, like JAMA?  Where is the evidence that this person was in fact dead and embalmed?  You are just repeating evangelistic propaganda (shameless lying) in order to propagate your religious agenda.  But what you do not have is EVIDENCE!

And, as explained previously, Amanda, you continue to misunderstand that hearing Christians profess such rhetoric as truth is useless (because Christian testimony is historically unreliable).  I need to SEE IT FOR MYSELF!   And since, according to you, your God "perform[s] many resurrections in this day and age," it should be no big deal for him to provide that which he must know that I require in order to believe, and make a grieving mother very happy in the process.

AMANDA: You say that you want just one single child to be resurrected, but even if that were to happen right in front of you, your attitude is such that you would find some other reason to hate God.

BRUCE: Who are you to tell me what I would and would not do, Amanda?!  You are arrogant beyond belief!  I have seen numerous children die tragically during my career, sometimes right in front of me inspite of my best efforts to save them (asthma, strangulation, choking, drowning, gunshot, heat stroke, congenital defects, etc.), and other times when there was simply nothing that could be done (massive multisystem trauma, incineration, SIDS, etc.)  And I'm only naming the "little children" I have seen die, not the teens and young adults.

There is nothing more devastating than the loss of a child, and I always have the displeasure of seeing the emotionally traumatic shock the parents go through in these events, some even begging to God to "save their baby" (while we're working on them) or "bring their baby back!" (after we have ceased efforts).  Indeed, Amanda, one day soon I plan to write an essay about "The Rocking Chair" that sits in Trauma Room #1 at Memorial Hospital here in Colorado Springs.  This is a grief chair where the parents of dead children are allowed to sit alone in the room and hold their dead child one last time--to say good bye.  Every time I see this it just rips my heart out--but it's not so much for the dead that I'm grieving here (their suffering has ended), but the living, the family who will live with this pain for the rest of their lives.  To see a mother grieving as she rocks back and forth, stroking her child's hair, kissing the forehead of his lifeless body, is something that will give you a new respect for life and how fragile and fleeting it is!  And I promise you that there is not one among them that would not give anything in this world to have their child back.

So, just as there were "crowds standing round" that witnessed Jesus' alleged resurrection of the "only son of the widowed mother" (Luke 7), I would like to be "among the crowd" as Jesus resurrects one of these dead children I have seen being held by his grieving mother in that rocking chair, and returns him alive to her.  I invite you to come here to Colorado Springs, Amanda, and we can both witness the body being disinterred from the grave and then see it resurrected from the dead!  If I should witness such an event, then my promise stands:  I will become Jesus' greatest disciple in professing His truth to all the world, especially to atheists, agnostics, and people professing beliefs in the thousands of "false religions" in the world.  THAT IS MY SOLEMN PROMISE!

And, once again, Amanda, I don't "hate God" any more than I "hate" the invisible pink elephant that lives in my kitchen pantry and always eats the peanuts when I'm not around--the evidence for the existence of each is equally strong.

Why do you hate Allah so much?  Don't you know that he is "knocking at the door of your heart . . . trying to give you His love . . . his 'free gift' of salvation"?  All you have to do is accept "the truth of Islam," Amanda, and you will have eternal life in heaven with the one true God!  But because you have been misguided by the devil into believing the "false religion" of Christianity, you will suffer the consequences in the form of eternal pain and suffering in hell--the Muslim hell!  Have you not read the holy "Word of God" in the Qur'an, which states quite clearly that those who fail to accept the truth of Islam "...shall burn for ever in the fire of Hell."? (Surah 98:6; Surah 4:56; Surah 76:4; Surah 3:85; Surah 98:6, among others)  But it's not too late, Amanda, there is still time for you to come to your senses, to purge the hate from your heart!  How can you just turn your back on God like this?  Remember, Amanda, even though you hate Allah, He still loves you and wants you to be with Him in heaven, but if you continue down this dark path you most assuredly will "suffer the eternal consequences!"

Do you see the problem, Amanda?  Put this way, do you recognize the inherent hate that manifests itself in such "believe, or else..." ideologies?
