Does God Cause of Evil?

AMANDA: I believe God takes a bad situation which the devil creates and brings good out of it.

BRUCE:  Well, just because you "believe" it to be so does not make it so!  If your god really exists, then who are you to speak for him and his thoughts, plans, and actions?  Isn't that a bit arrogant on your part?  The Bible is filled with horrific tales where "God" is brought to "anger," and he just wipes his "children" out by the thousands at a swoop.  Who are you to even call this God "good"?  We are told specifically, in fact, that Yahweh (i.e., Jesus) was the one who created "evil," not the devil!  See Isaiah 45:7; Lamentations 3:38; Amos 3:6; and Jeremiah 31:28, just to name a few.  So, Amanda, if something is "all good" (i.e., completely void of evil), then how could it create evil at all, or for that matter even recognize it if it saw it?  Wouldn't the supreme God of the universe, who created the universe and everything in it (including the devil, we are told), have to possess the traits that he bestowed upon his creation?

AMANDA: Every bad thing you think of Christianity you lump on all of us.  I know for a fact that what I believe on certain issues are totally different from what the catholics are taught.

BRUCE: I don't blame "every bad thing [I] can think of on Christianity" (there's plenty of blame to go around, although were it not for so-called "revealed religion(s)" proclaiming themselves the "one and only truth," 90 percent of all wars would never occur); nor do I lump "all Christians" together.  Far from it!  In fact, the majority of my closest friends define themselves as "Christians" of one flavor or another, including a Catholic priest who is a very good friend.  They are all good people--but they would be "good people" regardless of which religion they professed, if any (as is evidenced by the many other friends I have who are Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Jehovahs Witness, Mormon, atheist, agnostic, pagan, among others).  The fact is, they are only "Christian" in name and not in practice because they, like most Christians, do not follow the laws and demands placed upon them by the God of the Hebrew and Christian scriptures!  Not Yahweh, and not Jesus!  If they did they would be dead, in prison, or institutionalized for the criminally insane.  And you don't either, Amanda, but you certainly have the twisted mindset to do so if you thought you could get away with it without having to "do the time" here in the real world for things that modern societies consider "crimes"!

But, that said, there is a huge difference between those Christians who believe (in their ignorance) simply because that is what they have always been taught, and it gives them comfort to believe, but they do not see it as a necessity to impose their religion on the rest of the world (even though they are instructed to do so from the pulpits!); and those like you, Amanda, who proclaim it their "God-given right, and duty" to go out and proselytize their holier-than-thou rhetoric to the world!  You're a terrorist, Amanda, pure and simple, and so long as people like you continue to infect the minds of young children with your harmful psychological fear tactics, then I will be here to oppose and expose you for what you are.

It's very simple, Amanda.  Stop proselytizing, and you (with "you" being applied generically to all proselytizing Christians) will not hear another peep from me!  If it makes you all giggly inside thinking that you have the "one and only true religion in the world," like a juicy secret that no one else knows about, then great, good for you, sit in your golden churches and congratulate each other on your good fortune, but leave the rest of the world to their own religions (or lack thereof)!
